4 Months Pregnant
We are entering the fourth month of pregnancy - soon the long-awaited 2nd trimester will arrive. And along with it, the morning sickness and dizziness will go away and make room for new sensations and experiences. At this stage, the baby bump is already starting to show.
  • Protruding Belly in the Fourth Month

Due to accelerated development, the baby gains weight and size starting in the fourth month of pregnancy, taking up more and more space. This causes others to notice the growth of the belly, which begins to take on those curves everyone expects. However, not all expectant mothers develop a visible bump at this stage; this depends on the individual woman's body type and build.

14 weeks

At week 14, some fine hair, or just a light fuzz1, will start to grow on the head, eyebrows, and the rest of your little one’s body. But most of it will fall out by the time of birth. Another big milestone is that the fetus can now open and close its fingers and wrinkle its forehead, practicing making faces. At this stage, the baby spends much of the day sucking its fingers, which helps mom feel more energetic, as she is able to sleep and eat well.

By week 15, the fetus has an average length of 10 cm and weighs about 50 grams, and it is now possible to find out the sex through an ultrasound2. Unless the baby has its legs crossed, which can make it harder to see. The little face is now fully formed and the eyes are in the right place. The nose already has the shape it will have at birth, and from now on it will just keep getting bigger day by day.

16 weeks

At week 16, the mother has completed 4 months of pregnancy and the fetus is already “chubbier” than before, now weighing about 80 grams on average. The baby's circulatory system is working normally and its favorite activity is playing with the umbilical cord. The tiny hands can grasp the cord, and the baby even tries a few somersaults inside the belly.
