The first step to creating a baby shower is making the invitations. The choice of style depends a lot on the parents' taste. Some prefer something simpler, while others like more elaborate invitations with photos or drawings with names, all with the intention of giving it the family's touch. What used to be a more intimate gathering among women has now become a large event that can even be compared to the great birthday parties for the child that are yet to come.
The guest list is also extremely important, as well as the list of items to be requested in the invitations. These commonly include packages of diapers, baby wipes, diaper rash cream, shampoo, soap, baby oil, talcum powder, pacifier, bib, and all kinds of accessories you think necessary. You should remember to use common sense and not request expensive products, as the baby shower is a time to have fun and relax without excesses.
The invitation should specify the gift to be given. Usually, a friend or the expectant mother's sister prepares and distributes the invitations, so the future mom does not know what gifts were requested or who is giving what. On the big day, a table with snacks, pies, cake, and tea should be prepared, and you can include other appetizers as well. Some people prefer to serve a lunch or barbecue. The decoration should reflect the parents' taste. Balloons, cupcakes, lollipops, and stuffed animals can all be part of the extensive list of decoration options for this occasion.
But what cannot be missing is the famous diaper cake, which is delicately made with rolled-up diapers tied with satin ribbons. It should be placed in the center of the beautiful decoration, surrounded by all kinds of little treats chosen with so much care. Once everything is ready and the guests are present, the games can begin.
The mom-to-be does not need to appear in elegant outfits and uncomfortable shoes. Feeling comfortable and at ease is very important. Lipstick, paint, ribbons, makeup, and anything that can help with the games should be set aside, and the camera should be ready to capture this magical family moment. Some games can be prepared by friends in advance to make the baby shower more fun, especially if the parents are willing to participate.
To close the event with affection, it is a nice gesture to give a small keepsake to each participating guest, which can be anything from a small sweet like a biscuit baby to something related to motherhood, depending on the parents' preference. The most important part of the day is not just receiving gifts but celebrating the arrival of another much-awaited and desired member of the family.
