For proper development and performance in childhood, a child's health must be up to date and well monitored by the family and the pediatrician. Diseases, infections, and some other problems can arise as children grow and are somewhat common, after all, we are subject to and exposed to all kinds of organisms and bacteria.
Providing a Healthy Life for Your Child
As much as parents may wish to keep their child inside a glass bubble so that they don't suffer from infections and diseases from the world, unfortunately, it is inevitable for it to happen at least once in a lifetime. Healthy habits, proper nutrition, and keeping vaccinations up to date can help keep away those bacteria and viruses that so often bother children,

Due to airborne transmission, infections such as the flu, common cold, and even conjunctivitis can't always be avoided. You can only rely on medicine to help relieve the symptoms, which are often so uncomfortable. Candidiasis and urinary tract infections are also quite common during childhood and can still occur several times throughout life.
Even with vaccination available to protect children’s health, some diseases can still occur, such as meningitis, which is also transmitted through the air. Unlike infections, if it is not properly treated, it may cause serious aftereffects such as deafness, vision loss, and seizures. There are also diseases produced by the child’s own body, such as diabetes, which, due to poor pancreatic function, affects the insulin production in the body and requires ongoing management. In most cases, insulin administration is needed to regulate levels.
A critical factor to ensure a better quality of life and health in childhood is nutrition. Through good dietary habits, child health is maintained by eating foods rich in nutrients and vitamins, ensuring better body functioning and keeping it away from high cholesterol. A good meal plan helps control childhood BMI and promotes better bowel function, since so many children struggle with constipation, being overweight, and obesity.
Some situations aren’t always considered diseases, as they are simpler and quickly resolved, like phimosis, for example. The excess skin on a boy’s penis can be treated with medicated ointments, massages at home, or surgery. Fever is always a big warning sign for parents that something is wrong with their child’s health. When it appears, it may signal that an infection is active. However, there is no need to panic. Fever is simply the child’s body reacting against an invader. The body can defend itself and fight the cause of the temperature rise on its own.
Other diseases, unfortunately, cannot be prevented, as they arise from fetal development and are permanent disabilities. These are hereditary diseases or even due to genetic problems, such as children with Down syndrome or children with osteogenesis imperfecta, popularly known as brittle bone disease. Congenital deformities deserve special attention in child health because some children are born with disproportionate limb extremities or some kind of lesion. These conditions have no treatment or cure, but the effects can be eased with treatments and medications to improve quality of life. Many children are able to live almost normal lives, with some restrictions.
Children with physical or mental disabilities, e.g., wheelchair users or children with some intellectual delay, need the same care as any other child; some need more specific care, others need more caution due to increased sensitivity. All of them need medical care, good hygiene, and healthy eating to grow and develop as healthily as possible.
