Playing hide and seek, tag, and jumping rope has become a thing of the past. Today's children are practically born with technology, using tablets, cell phones, and computers. This changes habits and educational activities that parents and teachers do with children to help with their development.

Educational activities are recommended not only as a pastime and for fun, but mainly to support the cognitive, physical, and motor development of children, helping them interact, think, and exercise. Through these activities, it is possible to teach about important and historical facts, stimulate children's imagination, and pass along content that is so important for them.
Creating simple activities for children often just requires a bit of creativity. Why not celebrate holidays and historically significant dates with an educational activity? On September 7th, for example, Independence Day is celebrated. Hats and swords can be made with easy-to-find materials by the children and their guardians. Or why not take advantage of the occasion to teach them in a fun way to sing the national anthem? These are creative ways to teach children while also giving a true history lesson.
To teach stories, all you need to do is make a reading circle and let the children choose the book they would like to hear. Besides encouraging reading, it lets the child's imagination run free and allows them to interact during the story. Another fun educational activity is playing detective, exploring a place and discovering things that usually go unnoticed. Doing this activity in a park or any open space can be very interesting, sparking curiosity and a desire to learn about each different find.
There are also educational activities that can be done in a small space, such as cooking. Children love to help in the kitchen, and inviting them to make an entire recipe with their help will be extraordinary. Besides learning about measurements, they will be immensely happy with the result and will always want to do it again. These activities immerse the child in a new world and with theory becoming practice, they certainly teach much more than the tedious daily class. Engaging children with songs and playful games will make their lives much better and learning much more enjoyable.
By taking advantage of modern times and the ease with which children use electronic devices, great benefits can be gained by using them as learning tools. Through a tablet or computer, children can access educational and children's websites that offer games to stimulate memory. Others provide pictures to color and some supply educational songs that, through their lyrics, teach the alphabet, numbers, and colors.
