My name is Patrícia Amorim, I am 42 years old, and I’m the mother of three beautiful children! Different ages, different stages – 20, 15, and 11 years old. I’ve always been passionate about motherhood, but I faced difficulties achieving my dreams, and some challenges even after becoming a mom. In 2012, I started sharing my experiences and stories about how I got pregnant and what my routine was like, the problems I faced, and other issues that women might also experience during pregnancy or when trying to conceive. At the time, my blog was called Trocando Fraldas, and the posts covering various maternity topics quickly gained a large audience, much to my surprise. As the site approached the nearly 3 million monthly visits it now has, it started transforming into a more comprehensive information portal and we began developing Famivita’s line of products. Today, in 2022, Trocando Fraldas has found a new home with the Content section on this site. I hope you all continue to enjoy it ;) From the time I imagined myself as a mother, everything seemed much easier and simpler in my mind than it really was. I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wanted, but it wasn’t that simple. My first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was quite turbulent. Joana was born in 2002, weighing 2930g and measuring 45cm, through a very calm C-section, but she was already born with congenital pneumonia because of an untreated ruptured membrane that hadn’t been treated with antibiotics before delivery. With my first daughter’s birth came the first discoveries of all possible feelings as a mom and also the sleepless nights and taking care of a baby. Mistakes and successes that are all part of any new experience, and of course, everything wrapped in a lot of love, affection, and the blunders that are part of my personality. Exactly four and a half years later, Dudu was born weighing 3800g and measuring 53cm at 42 weeks of pregnancy. My son, who is now a super smart, loving, and very distracted young man… what a character! But this time it wasn’t so easy to get pregnant; here on the blog, I also tell how the journey to conceive went, as it took nearly three years of trying. That’s when I became an actual “trying to conceive” mom – and I didn’t even know it yet! A few years later, Melissa arrived full of health after a pregnancy filled with care and risks because of high blood pressure that persisted until the final month. Finally, she was born at 40 weeks, weighing 3540g and measuring 47cm, beautiful and so calm. My princess is the sweetest of children…
