History

The Vida Clinic – Fertility Center originated in 2003, as the former Fertility Center of Rede D’Or. In 2011, it gained a new headquarters, four times larger and equipped with the most modern equipment, according to them. Despite its expansion, the Clinic states that it has not abandoned its values: competent, quality service while maintaining ethics and respect.

The Vida Fertility Center also has another goal: training the next generations of professionals in the field of Human Reproduction. Therefore, according to them, they make use of their vast experience in the area to offer courses, certifications, and medical residency, as well as research and events.

The Vida Fertility Center emphasizes that it is founded on the following principles: care, respect, excellence, and innovation.

About the medical staff

The medical staff at Vida Fertility Center includes various types of professionals. Most of them are graduates from traditional universities in Rio de Janeiro, such as Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Universidade Estácio de Sá (UNESA), and Universidade Gama Filho (UGF), among others.

The Center states its goal is to provide a comprehensive and detailed treatment, with support from professionals in various fields. In addition to gynecologists, obstetricians, and reproductive specialists, the Clinic also has support from embryologists and biomedical professionals. Consultations are also available with nutritionists and urologists.

About costs and treatments

Knowing the high costs often related to fertility care, as well as the importance this carries for many couples, the Center offers several options to make treatments more accessible. To this end, it works with various payment plans and installment options, and also provides a clinic focused on people with greater financial difficulty.

Goals

  • To provide an ethical and respectful treatment to all patients, taking into consideration their conditions and their journeys.
  • Trust between professionals and patients, built through excellence both in technical quality and structure, as well as in the treatment of each individual.
  • To always value competence, whether in training and updating their professionals, or in providing a modern and comfortable environment.
  • Constant innovation, being a Center to be followed rather than following others.
  • To promote the training of new professionals in the field, as well as new techniques and procedures.
  • To promote knowledge and information, guiding patients through each step of their journey and providing educational materials on a wide range of topics related to human reproduction.
  • To offer fertility treatment to everyone, including patients with low income and same-sex couples.
  • To do everything possible to achieve positive outcomes without compromising patient safety.

Differentials

Certifications

The Vida Fertility Center holds multiple certifications in different areas. The ONA 2 Certificate assesses both safety and management criteria for the Clinic. RedLara is one of the most important certifications in the field, ensuring the Clinic’s quality regarding facilities, equipment, clinical and laboratory procedures, quality control planning, treatment outcomes, and consent forms. This also includes the Latin American Assisted Reproduction Registry (RLA), which monitors and reports the success rates of each clinic. Finally, there is certification by Empresa CCL, which ensures environmental contamination control in their laboratories and surgical centers.

Scientific Focus

Not only does the Vida Fertility Center strive to bring the newest techniques to its patients, it also aims to help develop them. The Clinic places high value on knowledge and scientific excellence, also offering research and training opportunities for new professionals in human reproduction. For them, scientific foundation is essential.

Social Responsibility

The Vida Fertility Center believes that fertility treatments should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial status or sexual orientation. Accordingly, the location supports single women and female same-sex couples who wish to become pregnant. There is also a low-cost Clinic, which provides Mini-IVF treatment for couples with lower incomes. Mini-IVF uses a smaller amount of medication, reducing overall costs.

Oncofertility

Modern cancer treatments have greatly increased cure rates and life expectancy for these patients. However, especially chemotherapy and radiotherapy, both widely used to fight the disease, are known to be harmful to fertility. The Vida Fertility Center offers alternatives for fertility preservation for these patients, such as gamete freezing. For female children, it is possible to freeze uterine tissue.

The Clinic in the Media

Barra clinics have more affordable projects for those who want to get pregnant
“Still in Barra, the Vida fertility center also has a program to make payment easier for those trying to conceive. Gerar Vida is a clinic operating at Avenida das Américas 1,917 as an extension of the center, where the Mini IVF method is performed, a type of fertilization that can cost up to 60% less than other conventional assisted reproduction processes. It was through this program that the couple Vivian and Ronaldo dos Santos, after eight years of trying, had their daughter Júlia, who is now 1 year and 3 months old.”

Social changes reflect the new relationship women have with motherhood
“For Dr. Maria Cecília Erthal, medical director of Vida – Fertility Center, the profile of women who seek her office has changed, but this does not represent an awareness among women regarding the necessary care when postponing motherhood.”
“The major obstacle for these women is the lack of available information. According to the doctor, public information on the subject is still very limited, and most women, when young, do not worry about the risks that may arise when they decide to become mothers.”

Egg Freezing Dossier: Everything about the technique used by Paolla Oliveira
“The female body functions like a biological clock and shows that, between 25 and 30 years old, it is the most suitable phase for becoming pregnant, as this is the woman’s most fertile period. After this age range, egg production decreases,” says Dr. Maria Cecília Erthal, specialist in Assisted Human Reproduction and medical director of Vida–Fertility Center.”
“Also according to the doctor, studies show that at 35 years old, female fertility reaches half the chance it presented at 25 years old, and at 40, the chance is half again compared to 35 years old.”
