History
Dr. Marco Cavalcanti became a specialist in reproductive medicine at the South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine in the United States and brought the technique to the states of Alagoas and Sergipe. In 1996, he was responsible for generating and delivering the first embryos in the state of Sergipe and, in 2006, for the first embryos generated in the state of Alagoas.
The Maceió Fertility Institute, or Instituto Maceió de Fertilidade, adopted this name in early 2022. And because it is directly linked to Dr. Marco, it is also known as Dr. Marco Cavalcanti Clinic.
About the medical team
The manager and lead physician of the Maceió Fertility Institute is Dr. Marco Cavalcanti. As mentioned earlier, he is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics through the South Florida Institute. Dr. Marco was responsible for generating and delivering the first Brazilian babies conceived through assisted reproductive techniques, as well as the first human embryos for this technique in Sergipe and also in Alagoas. He is also a pioneer in the development of artificial intelligence algorithms for medical diagnosis, having developed and presented in national and international congresses two artificial intelligence applications for fertility: the Fertility Test, and the FCOL Contraceptive.
The Maceió Fertility Institute’s medical team also includes Dr. Carlos Encinas, master in Reproduction and Development, graduated from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.

Treatment costs are only provided upon consultation. To schedule a consultation, it is necessary to download an app, fill out the required forms, and have a virtual pre-consultation with Dr. Marco, which costs 200 reais.
