My husband really wanted a third child, and so did I! But I never imagined it, because I had suffered a lot after Júlia was born. Time went by, and when Julia turned 5, we decided to start trying. First month trying: bam, positive and my husband didn’t believe it, since the second line was really faint, but of course, there were still 5 days until the long-awaited missed period…

I was pregnant again for the 4th time, yes, the 4th time… I had a miscarriage in my second pregnancy. At 11 weeks, we learned our little prince was on the way to complete our family!!! I don’t even need to say that daddy was grinning from ear to ear lol. My belly was growing and my love was only getting bigger!!!

On the very day I reached 37 weeks, we went to a birthday party for our little twin cousins. My due date was around 02/10 and the party was on 01/17, my oldest daughter Luísa even felt that her brother might be born that weekend and suggested I bring my hospital bag, but stubborn as I am, I said it wasn’t necessary. I had no idea how close I was to meeting my third great love.

We decided to stay at a hotel so I could rest before heading home the next day. After the party, I took a long, relaxing shower and lay down, but I couldn’t sleep, and around 3 a.m. I felt my legs were wet, woke my husband and said: My water broke—and half asleep, he replied: No way, and I said: Really! Lol I went to the bathroom and sure enough, my water had broken!!! Calmly, I took a shower, washed my hair, and called my OB to tell him everything. Since I was 3 hours from my doctor’s city, he asked me to have the baby where I was, but of course I said no and asked him to wait for me at the hospital.

I felt such an incredible sense of peace, so deep that it could only be God! With my two daughters and husband in the car, off we went to the hospital, and luckily, it was the middle of the night so there was no traffic. When we got there, my doctor examined me and took me straight to the OR. My only concern was my son’s health. Oh—and the baby clothes too lol, I didn’t have a single outfit with me, they were all at home (I had my prenatal care in another city). It was total chaos, but thank God everything worked out and my prince was born beautiful and strong at 6:47 a.m., I barely got to give him a kiss before they took him to the room, much to the joy of his sisters and daddy!! Pedro Joaquim, my life!
